Cats ovulate in response to mating, and the Merck Veterinary Manual gives about 65 days of gestation (64 to 66 days). If there were several matings, count from the first and the last to see the full window.

Enter the date your cat mated. You get the most likely date the kittens arrive, plus the earliest and latest dates.

How the dates are worked out

Cats are induced ovulators: mating triggers ovulation. The Merck Veterinary Manual puts gestation at about 65 days, or 64 to 66 days counted from the hormone surge that mating causes. Because that surge follows mating closely, the mating date is a good starting point.

If your cat mated over several days, run the calculator for the first and the last date to see the full window.

Talk to your vet early about a birthing plan and when to call them.
